From recent versions of OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM), also known as SAP Invoice Management (SIM), licences no longer apply only to the processing of invoices. The software is now also prepared to process other document types such as order confirmations, delivery notes, quotes, sales orders and payment advice. This expanded scope is referred to as VIM beyond Finance.
Recently, the so-called "free tier model" has become available for SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This licensing model allows you to get started with your own free instance of SAP BTP. The free tier model allows you to explore services including SAP Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and even try them out productively until a certain capacity limit is reached.
Many SAP users link local PC files to SAP documents. In addition, many outgoing documents are generated by the SAP system.
The table in which attachments and generated documents are stored (the table SOFFCONT1) can take up to 25% of the total database. When looking at the cost of storage in an SAP HANA environment, a reduction of the database can realize significant cost savings.

The SAP Fiori Launchpad is the starting point for SAP Fiori apps. Since 2016 it has been possible to consume SAP Fiori from the SAP Cloud Platform via the SAP Fiori Cloud Edition. In Q4 2020 a new option will be added for setting up a SAP Fiori Launchpad, namely the SAP Cloud Platform Launchpad. In this blog we will discuss this new functionality and why it has been introduced.
