Your role at Avelon

As an SAP MDG consultant, you will work on the technical design, construction, and optimization of master data governance solutions. You will be involved in full implementations and further developments of SAP MDG within often complex SAP S/4HANA landscapes.

You set up data models and governance processes, configure workflows and BRF+ decision logic, and ensure accurate and controlled data replication. You work with integration techniques such as DRF, IDocs, and web services, taking into account aspects such as performance, authorizations, and landscape stability. Where necessary, you provide support or development using ABAP and understand how MDG is technically related to other SAP components.

In addition to your technical focus, you have a clear functional affinity. You understand why governance processes are set up, what the impact is on business users, and how technical choices affect daily processes. You contribute ideas during requirements sessions, ask critical questions, and translate functional requirements into sustainable technical solutions that continue to work in practice.

You will work closely with functional consultants, architects, and customer teams. You will play an active role in improving data quality through validation rules, duplicate checks, key mapping, and other quality measures.

What top performers are we looking for

We are not looking for a standard consultant, but someone who dares to take ownership of the content and recognizes themselves in the following profile:

  • A college or university degree in IT, computer science, or a similar field

  • Two years of hands-on experience as an SAP MDG consultant

  • Strong technical knowledge of SAP MDG, including data modeling, process modeling, and UI configuration

  • Experience with master data domains such as Business Partners, Customers, Suppliers, Material and/or Financial master data

  • Experience with BRF+, workflow development, and basic knowledge of ABAP

  • Familiarity with integrations such as DRF, SOA, and IDocs

  • Affinity with data quality and governance, including validations, duplicate checks, and data consistency

  • Good communication skills in English; Dutch is an advantage
