SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) Consultant
At Avelon, we live and breathe SAP Master Data. Master data is a crucial pillar of our services and forms the foundation of many of our SAP solutions. It affects not only processes and governance, but also the technical architecture required to manage data in a reliable, scalable, and future-proof manner.
We are recognized in the market as specialists in the field of SAP Master Data Governance. This recognition makes us proud and ensures growing demand for our expertise. That is why we are looking for an SAP MDG consultant with a strong functional basis and clear affinity with SAP technology. Someone who understands how processes, data, and system design come together and helps organizations get a grip on their master data.
We are Avelon and we have a mission
Avelon is a specialized SAP consultancy with a clear focus on process automation. We help organizations to set up SAP processes in a smarter, more efficient, and more user-friendly way. In doing so, we look beyond just the business side. We also take responsibility for the underlying SAP architecture, integrations, and technical choices that are necessary for processes to function sustainably.
Our customers value us for our pragmatic approach and our in-depth SAP knowledge, both functional and technical. SAP Master Data Governance is one of our core areas of expertise. We design and implement MDG solutions that fit within complex enterprise landscapes and are technically robust enough to grow with the organization.
Your role at Avelon
As an SAP MDG consultant, you work at the intersection of business, data, and technology. You analyze, design, and improve master data processes within SAP landscapes and translate organizational requirements and data quality objectives into workable and technically feasible MDG solutions.
You have an eye for governance and processes, but also understand how SAP MDG is technically structured and how choices in configuration, data model, workflow, and integration influence each other. You work closely with technical MDG consultants, developers, and other SAP specialists and can discuss content with them.
You are involved in implementations and further developments within data domains such as business partner, customer, supplier, material, and finance.
Your duties will include:
Analyzing existing master data processes, governance structures, and SAP configuration
Collecting and elaborating requirements from business and IT stakeholders
Designing MDG processes, data models, and governance agreements
Contributing ideas about roles, responsibilities, and approval structures
Specifying and configuring workflows, validations, and data quality rules
Coordinate with technical consultants on integrations, extensions, and architecture choices
Supporting key users, data owners, and other stakeholders
Contributing to roadmaps and improvement proposals relating to data governance and MDG maturity
What top performers are we looking for
We are not looking for a standard consultant, but someone who takes ownership of the content and recognizes themselves in the following profile:
HBO or university level of working and thinking
Experience as an SAP consultant, preferably with SAP MDG or master data issues
Knowledge of master data processes and data governance principles
Experience with one or more master data domains
Clear affinity with SAP technology and system design
Able to translate business requirements into functional and technically feasible designs
Comfortable working with both business stakeholders and technical teams
Structured and pragmatic approach to work
Experience with SAP MDG configuration or technical components is a strong advantage.
You do not view software implementation as an end in itself, but as a means to help organizations work more effectively. You actively contribute to knowledge sharing, improving our approach, and further professionalizing our MDG services.
What makes Avelon different
At Avelon, your development is key, not a fixed career path. Together, we determine where you want to grow, both professionally and personally. We do this with targeted training, lots of learning on the job, and room to further develop both functionally and technically. If, along the way, you decide you want to shift your focus, we will move with you.
We believe independence is important, but good guidance is even more important. You will be assigned a permanent mentor with substantive knowledge of your field. Knowledge sharing is a matter of course for us and part of our daily work.
We consciously invest in team spirit. Every month, we get together with the entire Avelon team to share knowledge, catch up, and have fun. From eating and drinking together to activities such as sim racing or brewing our own Avelon beer. And most of that happens during working hours.
We look beyond just work. If things aren't going so well in your private life, we think along with you and support you wherever possible. We believe that if you are doing well, Avelon is doing well too.
The annual highlight is our trip abroad with the entire team, where content and fun come together. From SAP TechEd in Barcelona or Berlin to a study trip to Ibiza.
